Introducing NANOFUSE® Technology
You are unique. And so is your body, which is why we harness the very underrated technological wonder of LIPOSOMES. Liposomes are experts at behaving in a way that your body recognizes because they are composed of the same substance as our body’s own cells. This allows them to be absorbed more effectively because your body recognizes them as cells, rather than an outside substance to be broken down and eliminated (like your morning smoothie or that tasty burger you had last night).
Unlike most liposomal supplements you might find on the market, we partner our liposomes with our trademark NANOFUSEⓇ technology. This allows us to capture the power that significantly increases the absorption of each of our supplements.
Our process of creating liposomal supplements is a true trade-secret, just like those secret recipes your grandma has fine-tuned over the years. And while Grandma has worked tirelessly to perfect that mouth-watering apple pie, we did the same with our NANOFUSEⓇ technology.
This process may seem technically complex, as you may have guessed, but that’s why we’re here to break it down and offer you a more simplified explanation! Here’s some insight on how our NANOFUSEⓇ technology was created.
What is a Liposome?
Liposomes are pretty impressive structures. Consider them as transport vehicles that deliver ingredients (such as our supplements) to primary targeted areas of the body. If our bodies were full of highways and byways, liposomes would be the super cars of bioavailability. They practically shuttle therapeutic ingredients straight to where your body needs them most without being compromised by the acids in your stomach.
Since your body doesn’t feel threatened by the presence of liposomes, it doesn’t attempt to get rid of them like it normally would with any other supplement type. Cells welcome them in, instead of trying to flush them out. This ability allows the nutrients wrapped inside to travel safely and ultimately absorb better. In other words, they help to optimize bioavailability.
Liposomes are formed by combining the active ingredients along with other components, which form the actual liposomes themselves. If you aren’t sure what an active ingredient is, it’s the part of a supplement that provides the intended effect. For example, we combine Vitamin C (active ingredient) with water and sunflower oil lecithin to form each liposome.
What Sets Us Apart
Now, where our process really sets us apart from all the other liposomal products is our ability to achieve a microscopic size (also known as nanosized) for each single nutrient. Sure, you can create the perfect shield for your nutrients, as some other liposomal supplements do, but that will only get you so far if the particles are too big. If these molecules are too big, your body will have difficulty properly absorbing them or delivering them to target areas.
Think of this as trying to fit a giant exercise ball into a basketball hoop. These large molecules will only travel so far throughout your body.
On the other hand, a nanoparticle is much smaller than the particle size that’s in the majority of the vitamins you find at your local grocery store. They are technically defined as a particle size below 100 nanometers. There are 1 billion nanometers in 1 meter.
This size allows for our trusty liposomes to travel as light as possible throughout your body, while maintaining the nutrients in their best form.
How Big Is a Nanometer?
The human eye can easily see the diameter of a human hair, which is typically 1/10 of a millimeter or 100,000 nanometers. If you were to blow up a human hair to the size of the Empire State Building. A typical red blood cell would rise to the tenth floor, while a bacteria cell would only hit the 3rd floor. Protein molecules would measure to a small dog standing in front of the building. A nanometer, on the other hand, would measure less than a quarter of an inch on the building.
The Manna Difference
With all of the technical talk covered, we can now discuss how NANOFUSEⓇ technology nurtures your unique self the way supplements are intended. In other words, using liposomes to deliver beneficial nutrients offers multiple advantages over all other delivery methods. Here’s how:
- The super small particle size greatly improves absorption.
- The protective shield formed by liposomes allows the fragile nutrients to maintain their true form so your body can experience the full benefits.
- Liposomes travel through a special pathway within your body that allows for rapid entry into the bloodstream. This enables your cells to utilize the nutrients before they are relieved from your body (during those private moments in the loo).
- When it comes to traditional capsules and tablets, there is a limit to how much active ingredients can be used per serving. Liquid supplements, however, can include an effective amount of active ingredients without being restrained by physical limitations.
- Nutrients protected by liposomes are safe from being destroyed by your body’s harsh stomach acids.
With the ever-evolving market, we know how overwhelming it may be to find high-quality products you can rely on. Here at Manna, we not only pride ourselves on efficacy and quality, but also our utilization of a unique delivery system for optimal nutrition! Our team partnered with the brightest scientific experts, took nano technology and married it with liposomal delivery (through advanced manufacturing technology), and created our exclusive NANOFUSEⓇ delivery. Say hello to nutritional supplements that deliver the utmost, ultimate nutrition!
Introducing NANOFUSE® Technology
Human biology is unique, so we use technological wonders known as liposomes to mimic the structure of our cells, while NANOFUSEⓇ captures the power of pharmaceutical technology to significantly increase the absorption and utilization of dietary supplements. Our process of creating liposomal dietary supplements is proprietary and technically complex, as you may already tell, but we’re more than happy to give you a simplified explanation! Here’s some insight into how our liposomes are created as well as their advantages over other forms of supplements.
What is a Liposome?
Liposomes are pretty impressive structures. Consider them as vesicles that deliver therapeutic ingredients such as pharmaceuticals (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients or “API’s”) or dietary supplements to targeted areas of the body. For our science enthusiasts, they are naturally formed self-contained structures with an aqueous core and an outer membrane made of phospholipids. Since the outer lipid bilayer of a liposome is similar to that of a human cell, they are highly biocompatible and easily absorbed.
Liposomes are formed by combining active ingredients (Vitamin C, Zinc, Curcumin, among others) along with components which form the actual liposomes (water, sunflower oil lecithin, and vegetable-based glycerin). The technology is similar to how milk homogenization works. Fluid is forced under high pressure into diminishingly smaller orifices, which creates the uniform mixture with an even distribution of ingredients. The active ingredients are typically smaller in size than before the process to increase their absorption abilities.
What Sets Us Apart
Where our process really sets us apart from all the other liposomal products is our ability to achieve a “nano” level of particle size. A nanoparticle is defined as a particle size below 100 nanometers. With liposomes, particle sizes over 100 nanometers are considered effective, but in comparison, nanoparticles enjoy a significantly higher level of biocompatibility over particle sizes greater than 100 nanometers.
You may now be wondering how we can tell our products are at both the liposomal and nano level. Well, we use Dynamic Light Scattering Technology, or DLS, to not only examine the particle sizes in every batch, but to also ensure the batch meets our specific criteria.
The Manna Difference
With all of the technical talk covered, we can now discuss how liposomal technology benefits your unique body better than other standard processes. In other words, using liposomes to deliver beneficial nutrients offers multiple advantages over all other delivery methods. Here’s how:
- The decreased particle size greatly improves bioavailability. We’re talking particles down to the nanometer level. Any other method to achieve particles that small just won’t cut it.
- As we explained above, the lipid bilayer of liposomes mimics your cells, which allows for enhanced uptake. Bare nutrients trying to enter cells without any assistance from liposomal technology or have large particle sizes have significantly poorer absorption rates.
- Nutrients typically enter the bloodstream through the small intestine via two pathways. The first is absorption within the small intestine, which goes directly into the bloodstream and straight to the liver. The other pathway is from the small intestine into the lymphatic system, which then goes into the bloodstream and is circulated before reaching the liver. This allows for the absorbed nutrients to be utilized by the cells before a “first pass” through the liver. The lymphatic pathway is primarily for fats and fat-based nutrients. Liposomes are absorbed via this pathway, allowing for rapid entry into the bloodstream and tissue dispersion before filtration by the liver.
- Liquid liposomal delivery isn’t physically limited by tablet or capsule size. With traditional methods, there is a physical limit to how much active ingredients can be used per serving because only so much can be put inside a capsule or compressed into a tablet. With our liquid liposomal supplements, however, we can formulate our products to specify an effective amount of active ingredients without being restrained by physical limitations.
- Nutrients contained within liposomes are protected from the harsh acidic environment of the stomach. With traditional delivery methods, nutrients are exposed to stomach acid once the tablet or capsule starts to dissolve. Many nutrients are extremely sensitive, and stomach acid can destroy them before they even enter the small intestine.
I know that might have felt like sitting through a science class, but we’re very proud of the technology that goes behind Manna products, and we’re confident our scientific philosophy is what sets us apart from others! We truly are Vitamins Evolved. As I said before, it may be easy to get lost in the complexity of this process, but keep in mind that no question is ever too silly or ridiculous. So, please, never hesitate to reach out to our team with any questions or concerns that you may have!
